DWP Powerlist 2022: Honoring The Extraordinaire Planners & Designers Across The Globe.

The 9th annual DWP Congress took place this time in the incredible St. Regis Doha, Qatar, from 14th-16th March 2023, hosting hundreds of destination & luxury wedding experts from 70+ countries, to connect and celebrate the buzz of 2023 weddings, after the massive comeback of 2022.

Hosted by QNA International during the Gala Dinner, this Award is

“dedicated to Top Planners & Designers of 2022 from across the globe whose work speaks for themselves.
They have been consistent in raising the bar and mesmerizing us every time with their awesome work in the field of luxury weddings!”

I had the honor of receiving this recognition from His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways and the Chairman of Qatar Tourism who graced the soirée. An even more valuable recognition after this last, challenging year in which Elisa Mocci Events had to reinvent itself, nonetheless without losing its relevance in the international market.

Visit Qatar: the Fam Trip

Together with a group of 20+ colleagues from all over the world, before the DWP event we explored Doha during an amazing FamTrip offered by Visit Qatar (head on to www.visitqatar.com to discover the country’s best sights and travel advice!).

I found Doha and its surroundings incredibly fascinating.

Recently, I have visited Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, and will soon travel to Saudi Arabia… in short, my personal and working interest in this area of the world is growing.
Yet so far no city had excited me so much. Doha – despite what we hear from the other side of the world – is not so “rowdy.” You can stroll through the Suq without being overwhelmed by vendors, admire the old fishermen’s village (perhaps crossing the sea in an ancient boat), while behind you you have skyscrapers, but without the landscape being spoiled by huge billboards. I really enjoyed that.

The silence, the peace, the refined architecture that shows off, but without being out of context. The Katara Village and National Museum (NMoQ) designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, as well as the Museum of Islamic Arts, designed by Chinese-American architect Ieoh Ming Pei, are architectural masterpieces that fit perfectly into the landscape.

Qatar is home to a diverse collection of monuments, architecture, and hidden historic places, positioning itself as an upcoming luxury wedding destination. Thanks to massive investment and hosting the major brands of luxury hotellerie, this extravagant destination is becoming a hotspot for discerning couples from around the world!
