Inside the diaries of our planner Barbara

“I met Marta and Edgar while we were exploring Sardinia. Far and wide, searching for the place that could give them the right vibes… the place where they could feel “at home”.

If it’s true that couples choose Sardinia for its sea, it’s equally true that the island offers beautiful alternative settings; for them, the perfect location was in the hills of Sassari… a long tree-lined avenue and a stone farmhouse surrounded by fields.

Our journey began in those days, and in the following months, a great understanding turned into a relationship built on trust… a solid and essential foundation for the planning and design of every event.

Over time, I learned to understand their wishes and needs: a “big celebration” with a lively atmosphere, enriched by the presence of guests from different nationalities: Marta’s Sardinian and Spanish family, Edgar’s Peruvian relatives, and many South American friends.

Anticipating such a lively atmosphere, I envisioned a vibrant, summery, and intense design!

The idea of incorporating elements from Peruvian culture was immediately a great source of inspiration for me. Textile art, in particular, is one of the oldest traditions in Peru, and the design began to take shape from the patterns of typical Andean fabrics, with their vibrant colors and geometric designs.

Drawing inspiration from the colorful patterns of the textiles, I chose a single element, the triangle, and selected orange as the “guiding” color, pairing it with red and fuchsia, which became the leitmotif of the event. The triangle reappears as the backdrop for the ceremony, a further reference to Peru and its ancient pyramids; a symbolic and perfect shape.

Three points, three colors… everything would be in harmony!

We carefully crafted many handmade details: tassels in the color palette to embellish the chandeliers, colorful triangles to decorate the napkins and create the table numbers and small tags for the seating chart, adorned with handmade pendants using Peruvian fabric beads.

These elements were thoughtfully designed and created specifically for a completely custom result, which has always been what makes Elisa Mocci Events’ designs unique.

And then there was music, hugs, many tears, and amidst the beautiful speeches from friends and family, the emotion of Marta and Edgar as they exchanged vows—hers in English, his in Spanish.

Around them, the dry fields of a hot summer made the vibrant flowers stand out, a fundamental complement to this design and the perfect backdrop for photos of the couple and their families (all dressed strictly in the color palette… a delight for every designer’s eyes!).

The sunset during the couple’s photoshoot was just as we had hoped; Marta was radiant and elegant, with her updo and flowers that highlighted her “Spanish vibe.”

Edgar, elegant and shy in front of the camera, wearing a tailored suit and hat… as Marta loved to say, “a true Peruvian Hugh Grant.”

The table featured the flavors and typical dishes of our island, Sardinia; from pane carasau to fregola and malloreddus… Sardinia presented itself to the international guests with its delicacies and the hospitality it is known for.

The union of the two families, and the meeting of the two cultures, reached its peak during the long final speech from our emotional bride, who recalled her childhood in Sardinia and spoke about how important the words “home” and “family” were to her. She shared how she had wished, on this very important day, to bring Sardinia and Peru together around a joyful table, and later onto the dance floor until the early morning light.

As the planner of this event, I was reassured that building a relationship of trust with clients is the foundation upon which everything else is built, from choosing vendors to selecting the design and making last-minute decisions… yes, because even in the most successful events, there can be small unforeseen issues or second thoughts!

On the morning of the event, the ceremony location had become uncomfortable for the guests due to recent rains. I called the couple and suggested we move the setting. “We trust you completely, so if you think we should change it, let’s do it,” were the words I was hoping to hear, which gave me and my trusted team the energy we needed to adjust the plan on the fly and achieve the best result for our couple and the final design!

Marta and Edgar’s event was, in one word, “precious,” the perfect combination of originality and sophistication, genuine emotions and family warmth, and complete trust in our work. When all these elements come together, even the photos manage to express pure joy”.

“We reached out to the EME team a year ago because we had decided to organize our wedding in Sardinia, and living in the United States, it would have been impossible to plan everything perfectly for our international guests without help. We had seen their style through social media, but nothing could have prepared us for the level of professionalism, attention to detail, and passion that the entire team demonstrated throughout the event preparation. From the very first meeting, Elisa listened to our preferences and understood that Barbara would be an excellent WP for us. From there, the team offered us a range of personalized services, including an initial venue scouting trip that we could do while visiting Sardinia. Already at that first step, Barbara understood our needs, guiding and advising us impeccably, giving us a vision of what could be achieved.

We greatly appreciated the clarity with which she explained all the details (including costs, logistics, pros and cons), but most of all, we always felt that Barbara and the EME team were working for us and in our best interest. This created a blind trust in her, making the following months a truly unique experience. The entire event organization was punctual and orderly, so we never felt stressed. At the same time, the creative aspect left us speechless. From the first moodboard, Barbara and the designers offered us more than we could have hoped for, and it was pure fun choosing between so many beautiful options.

All the professionals we met during the menu tasting, makeup, and hair trials made us feel incredibly calm thanks to their professionalism, and we truly felt we were in great hands. Then the big day arrived, and what can we say, the photos speak for themselves. We enjoyed every moment from the very first instant, and honestly, the result surpassed every expectation. One of our guests told us, ‘There’s so much of you and Edgar in this wedding,’ and we believe that perfectly sums up the atmosphere that was created that evening. The colors, the music, the ceremony setup, the little details on the table—all came together to create a magical moment that we will never forget. None of this would have been possible without Barbara, Adriana, and the entire EME team, and we will be eternally grateful! Barbara, we love you ❤ your professionalism, understanding, and dedication made this a unique experience for us! We can’t wait to plan our next event together. See you soon!”

As a Wedding Planner of Neapolitan origin, I’ve been fortunate enough to discover wonderful places. Each destination has left me with something unique: serenity, inspiration, motivation, and change. Every corner of these magnificent locations has contributed to the evolution of my creative and professional approach, enriching me not only as a professional but also as a person.

Ravello, with its breathtaking views and enchanting gardens, taught me the importance of creating romantic and unforgettable atmospheres. The Sorrento Coast, with its spectacular landscapes and rich traditions, inspired me to highlight authenticity and natural beauty in every event. Capri, with its timeless charm and sophisticated elegance, motivated me to pursue excellence in every detail. Sicily, with its millennial history, vibrant colors, and extraordinary cuisine, showed me the richness of traditions and the art of warm hospitality.

Last but not least, Sardinia, with its pristine beaches and free spirit, reminded me of the importance of embracing change while remaining open to new ideas and perspectives.

Each destination has allowed me to grow and continuously improve, bringing with me a treasure of precious memories and new insights that enrich every event I organize.

And so it was for the latest event: the elopement of Galina and Alek, our Lithuanian couple.

Going beyond, pushing limits, and going with the flow was somewhat the mantra of this event. Challenging for someone like me, who loves to always keep everything under control, but it happened.

I let myself be guided—literally—by the poetry of that place, respecting it and trying in every way not to detract from its essence (Elisa Mocci teaches).

“When design blends with the wild beauty of nature, love stories reach new heights.”

Galina and Alek, from Lithuania, chose Luogosanto, one of the most fascinating places in Sardinia, as the backdrop for their wild elopement.

They wanted an experience that went beyond the usual island clichés, renowned—mainly—for its stunning beaches. From the start, they were looking for something authentic, immersed in the wild and unspoiled nature of Sardinia, a place that would fully reflect their essence and adventurous spirit. Gallicantu, nestled among the rocks of Gallura, proved to be the perfect setting for them.

Their wild elopement was a true tribute to the natural and unspoiled beauty of the area. Every detail was carefully curated to create a design that perfectly harmonized with the poetry of the place. Neutral tones and natural materials like rattan, wood, and terracotta were chosen to blend seamlessly with the surroundings.

So I thought: “ceremony on the rock… why not?” Too bad I remembered afterward that I’m afraid of heights 😅

To my couple, Galina and Alek, thank you for trusting me completely and for getting me to climb those towering rocks! 😉

“Adri we do really like your style of work. It makes us feel very comfortable and don’t worry. Even me with a tendency of over-control to everything”.

Galina

Adri, thanks a lot! It was amazing. We are very happy

Elisa Mocci – Speaker WIM 2023 – Firenze

“WE. INSPIRE. MEMORIES.

We are the makers of memories. Quite a responsibility, eh?

WE INSPIRE MEMORIES.

In the chaotic world we live in, memory is a precious currency. It defines who we are, shapes our memories, determines future choices.

The Events we create, the Experiences we are able to imprint through our work, are the basic building blocks of a personal and collective narrative.
For our task goes beyond Planning written on an excel, a three-day room block at a Luxury Hotel, a menu tried and tried again, and a mise en place chosen from among many.
We are responsible for creating that memory itself.

But how does it come about, this memory?

WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF MEMORY? From a desire, a desire that passes through experience, that turns into memory first personal, then social … leaving an indelible imprint in the history of anyone who comes into contact with the magic we create through the Event.
Through the Event, people – our Clients – express details and meanings of their lives that if we are able to listen to them, to grasp them, become storytelling through us, and thus memory.
The memory of an event connects people, conveys deep meanings and even serves as a source of inspiration for new experiences and decisions. Memory is critically important because it allows us to preserve and relive the special moments that helped shape who we are.
But are we really aware of how important our role as Wedding Planner, Wedding Designer, Wedding Suppliers is for our Clients?

WHY DO YOU DO IT? BECAUSE AROUSING EMOTIONS, GRATIFIES.

Because a successful event, a happy customer, is a success.
Not only because at the end of the fair he or she will settle the bill, but because we will have left in him or her, in them – a trace.
An emotional impact.

EMOTION is what drives our Industry.

For event designers and planners, for ‘hospitality, for chefs…. understanding not only the client’s vision, but the emotion that triggers the desire to hold that event at that time, to travel, to choose a location with certain characteristics, is crucial.
The ability to be able to understand, to manage that emotion at every stage of the process, can be improved, studied, applied with enormous success.
It can take our level as entrepreneurs, and therefore our own personal and professional success, to another level.
It is a science, it is called Emotional Intelligence.
In the era when Artificial Intelligence is redefining parts of our work, Mastering, embracing Emotional Intelligence is what can make a difference in each of us.
But beware: working on emotional intelligence does not start from the outside, that is the end point. It starts from the inside. The first key is self-awareness.

“Knowing how to read one’s emotions and how they affect our behavior.”

And here I come back to the first question:
WHY DO YOU DO IT? WHAT EMOTION DOES IT AROUSE IN YOU?
Are you able to put that emotion at the service of others-really-putting aside ambition, sales goals, superstructures for a moment to focus on what the person in front of you, the person you want to reach, is feeling?
Because it is precisely in that instant, in that deep connection, that you are beginning to BUILD MEMORIES.”

Abstract from Elisa’s Speech

Elisa Mocci – Speaker WIM 2023 – Firenze

WIM23 ✨

“Dream Seriously, Think Carefully, Act Bravely.”

What better quote than from WIM founder Tommaso Corsini to describe the emotions of these three days and what I bring home.
Perhaps for the first time in 15 years I felt like I really belonged. Because it is. A place where for the first time in the Italian Wedding Industry Light, sincerity, support, public and honest endorsement to other colleagues, attention to Social Awareness and People with their depth and complexity and beauty were Predominant Engine. Leaving no room for competition.

WIM is a valuable event that makes connection to people and territory its strength, and I am honored to be a part of it since the first edition and share the images – wonderful, by Studio Righi – with you.

We Inspire Memories.

What better activity than wandering around Florence accompanied by the most illustrious names and personalities of the Renaissance to discover the city’s oldest and most prestigious crafts? From master perfumers to tanners to medieval dances, this Team Game strengthened our connections and left us literally spellbound by the city and its wonders. What an INCREDIBLY ORIGINAL IDEA for a welcome evening for a destination wedding in Florence, don’t you think?

The evenings followed one another filling us with wonder, the first, in the center of Florence – at Palazzo Gondi – the second at Villa Corsini, in the tradition of WIM, wrapped in the warmth of a wonderful Team, crazy music and delicious food.

And it was an honor – and a little bit of a surprise – for me to see how many colleagues had grasped the intent and invitation of my speech:

“Memory must be cultivated. We must strive to push the boundaries, to dare with creativity and dedication, with patience, even. It is not just about creating extraordinary events, but about elevating the art of hospitality to a higher level.
Because the work of all of us is not just profession, it is the cornerstone on which the edifice of memories rests.
Here I would like to leave you with a little exercise, pick three people today. Talk to them, understand who they are beyond the glossy Instagrams, the stars, the covers. Read their emotions, ask them WHY they do it. And start building MEMORIES. TOGETHER”

They have done that, they have started to go deep, to have more personal conversations, they have sought out the People, before the Business. That, certainly, will come….

What more could I want? Until the next WIM!

When social commitment becomes concrete, heartfelt and shared wonders are born. And they can be born even in a peculiar and exclusive sector like ours, the Luxury Wedding Industry.

A year ago, I joined the Social Project @forwoomanity, funded by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, dedicated to 20 women under 35, to support their training, empowerment, overcome the gender&pay gap and offer a concrete opportunity to enter the job market. Including the incredibly challenging one of entering the world of Luxury Weddings.

It has been a year of great commitment for us and for these extraordinary women, many of them with young children, complex stories, a desire for redemption or more simply to find their place in the world and have a chance to spread their wings. I am so proud of you all. #RiseUpUnafraid. @emexacademy

Beyond the crystal clear sea and rugged coastline, surrounded by mountains and Mediterranean nature, there is an unexpected reality, a fascinating and unusual hotel, a world unto itself, in which Sardinian culture meets art collections, antiques and the most contemporary design.

We are in the heart of Barbagia, a few hundred meters from the most beautiful karst spring in Sardinia, a small Eden of turquoise water set among the rocks, which also gives its name to the location where we chose to set our Styled Shooting.

The Hotel Su Gologone, born in the 1960s as a small refreshment in a hostile and unknown environment in the wildest heart of Sardinia, has now become one of the most renowned and award-winning destinations in the world for its charm and uniqueness, thanks to the work of its owner Giovanna Palimodde (and before that her mother, Mrs. Pasqua), a painter and collector but above all a creative soul who with her ideas has made Supramonte known to the world.

During the first site visit, Giovanna told us about her studies and travels around the world, showing us sacred objects and ceramics typical of Sardinian craftsmanship, along with her creations, through which she elaborates tradition and innovation with painting.

In the Art Workshops of Su Gologone, expert weavers give life to wonderful embroideries, from shawls inspired by traditional Oliena costume shawls, to fine fabrics in which yarns and colors find every right harmony.

Finding harmony, indeed, was the biggest challenge for us; to realize a project in such a special place, to find a style that was in tune with this place rich in colors, art and poetry, was the starting point. In between, the idea of a Styled Shooting editorial that would see two worlds approach and “collide,” two cultures that are far away but incredibly close: in bright colors, in sacred and profane art, in the influence of the Catholic religion in material forms and ritual customs.

Mexico, so far from Barbagia, and the dream of an intimate destination wedding in a place so rich in influences, gives sap to our creative process.

Thus was born an “encounter” between Sardinian tradition and Mexican culture, a floral tribute to Frida Khalo, an emblematic figure of this country, painter and poetess, who inspired us in designing the look of our bride, for whom we chose a precious shawl from a private collection, ancient Sardinian jewelry and modern macramé creations to adorn two dresses, for two moments of the day.

The spring of Su Gologone, with its crystal-clear waters and its small stone church, could only become the natural setting for the ceremony; a wedding ring made from an embroidery hoop decorated with fresh flowers, poems by Frida to pledge eternal love, an ancient rosary in her hands and a shower of colored petals on the water, a memory of sacred and pagan rites.

The sacred elements present at Su Gologone, including a vast collection of holy water fonts, inspired us in choosing the stylistic leitmotif of the various details: the sacred heart (or “Su Coru,” in Sardinian), a typical Mexican votive object, an ancient symbol of love, compassion, wisdom and inner strength.

The ancient shawl, with the nuances of its embroidery, inspired us in the choice of colors for the flowers, expertly used to make the bouquet and the compositions that decorated the white lime corners and the reclaimed woods that create the iconic portals of the location.

At nightfall, the Azure of the walls, a typical color of Oliena, obtained for centuries by mixing lime with a blue powder, provided the backdrop for the dance of our bride and groom, accompanied by the Mexican melodies of a classical guitar and a carpet of stars.

“It was mainly an immersive experience … being able to enjoy the beauty of nature and learn more about the traditions of this little corner of Sardinia.

Su Gologone bewitches tourists, but it also managed to fascinate me, who is Sardinian, with its stories and its varied and colorful world.

A shoot gives you a chance to experiment, to “go beyond,” to imagine fusions of cultures that are geographically distant and speak different languages, like, in this case, Sardinia and Mexico.

This fusion was the spark to create, together with my colleagues, something original that I really enjoyed because I madly love color (even though I often wear black!) but also mixes between different cultures.

“Because we are made of worlds coming together, colorful hugs and borderless loves.”

MARY – Planner e Designer

“During the year, we design and create events for wedding couples. Shooting represents a unique opportunity to step out of our comfort zone and go beyond the client’s request and need!

It is a stimulating experience that contributes to our professional and personal growth.

Through our work, we create beauty, play with shapes and colors, collaborate and experiment.

For several years, Sardinia has had the honor of being chosen as a destination for their wedding day by couples from all over the world.

We have the responsibility to make Sardinia known for the complex and fascinating cultural aspects, to welcome and cross more and more cultures in our incredible island.

SARA – Planner e designer

The Design part is for me, from a creative point of view, the most stimulating part of this work: I really enjoyed searching and finding the elements of union between the two cultures, discovering and choosing among Frida Khalo’s poems those to be included in the texts of the vows, testing the best colors for the invitation suite.

The day of the project realization was certainly busy, with some unforeseen issues related to weather and time management. If the design phase was a poetic moment, the shooting day was hectic. Temps were tight, clouds threatened us, the hours passed quickly, and coordinating the various phases was not easy. However, in the end, we managed to achieve the desired result.

My favorite moments?
The shots of the ceremony and the shower of petals that I myself dropped on our “bride and groom” after climbing a rock!”

This view. Hard not to recognize it immediately. Impossible not to love it madly.

As a Wedding Planner and Designer, I have been lucky enough to attend many dream ceremonies all over Italy, but Villa Cimbrone in Ravello holds a special place in my heart. Why, you may ask? The answer is simple: its timeless beauty, historic charm and breathtaking views of the iconic Terrace of Infinity are something that stays with you.

I dreamed for many, many years of having a wedding here. I told Paola Vuilleumier, owner of this location among the most coveted in Italy, as we sat at a BtoB table at the Destination Wedding Planner Congress in Rhodes, Greece. I didn’t need to flip through pictures of the location: in my mind, I had already dreamed of it thousands of times. From the vaults of the Crypt, to the gardens, already dozens of different designs crowded my creative mind every time I saw those architectures so recognizable in some colleague’s Instagram pages.

Villa Cimbrone, located in the picturesque town of Ravello on the Amalfi Coast, is one of Italy’s most fascinating historic residences. The villa was built in the 13th century and has hosted such illustrious figures as Greta Garbo, Winston Churchill, and many others. When you walk through the gate under the tower at Villa Cimbrone, you feel catapulted back in time, into an atmosphere that evokes history and tradition.

When I received Paola’s call, in spring 2022, to see if I had availability in supporting a destination couple from Brazil and Switzerland, and already at an advanced stage of planning, I knew I had to accept the challenge!

It was not easy, given the scale of the event and the delicacy of having to take over a project that was not mine since the beginning: not having followed the concept of the event from the initial stage – for a Designer -c an be a limitation. But the wishes of the bride and groom were very clear, and the floral design was entrusted to a true Master (and friend), the “Prince of Ravello” Armando Malafronte, so a guarantee!

This, is the “behind-the-scenes” tale – through the lens of Pasquale Andreotti – not only of an extraordinary adventure, made up of an international team that spoke Portuguese-Brazilian, German, English and Italian, made up of some 30 vendors, a three-day event and unpredictable and mocking weather.

It is also a tale of a new professional awareness for me, Elisa, and a relationship that transcended borders and went beyond the event itself. Read on to find out more…

Entertainment, fun, amazement, surprise-the key words of Hanns and Elaine’s wedding. At first – I admit – I didn’t understand why they wanted to put together SO MUCH entertainment. At every moment: from the folk group Scialapopolo accompanying guests dancing and singing through the streets of Ravello, to Brazilian musicians, to performance arts by NuArt, to not-one-but-two moments of “Vanity Style” photo shoot by Zuzu Birkhof (see above).

In short: music, colors, laughter in every moment. I knew Brazilians are used to this, but the real motivation was something else: Hanns and Elaine wanted to offer their guests a once-in-a-lifetime experience, to thank them for the very long journey they had endured. A celebration not only for them as a couple, but as a family. Something accomplished for all of them. This generosity, it only became clear to me later, getting to know them more deeply, understanding their life, their story, their motivations.

I approached this event with a very special intensity. Because I knew that for me, Elisa, it would be my last as the bride and groom’s primary reference Planner. Immediately after this event, I would communicate to my Team my decision, which I had already been cultivating for at least a year: my role in my company would change, from operational in planning, to managerial and strategic in the Design and Academy division. We already had 7 Planners, some with me for 11-12 years, and it was time that even major clients could rely on them completely.

Everyone in the Elisa Mocci Events Team was already ready… all that was missing was my final awareness.

I remember this picture well. I was responding to one of the – numerous – messages that the groom rightly sent me. And my heart was pounding because on the one hand I was relieved that from the next season my phone would no longer ring to change this or that guest at Table 8 (except, of course for business-critical matters!).

On the other, I was looking around with a light and heavy heart at the same time, enjoying every moment of what we were creating with a crazy team.

Rarely has it happened to me in these now 15 years as Wedding Planner to experience such a heartfelt, exciting, and participatory celebration like this one at the famous location of Villa Cimbrone, in Ravello. A succession of emotions, but also of great operational and logistical challenges – for me and my Team – in the hope that the bride and groom would be happy with this long-dreamed celebration.

Their satisfaction, and gratitude, eventually went far beyond that. A few months later, Stefano and I flew to Brazil, to Rio de Janeiro, to celebrate Elaine’s 50th birthday at another INCREDIBLE “Venetian Carnival in Rio” themed party.

Their generosity amazed and gratified us as we discovered Rio with their lifelong friends on a phenomenal “gringos tour”. And then arriving at the theme party finding ourselves wrapped in the colors, warmth, exaggerated and wonderful costumes that only Brazilian artists know how to create, dancing to the enthralling music in a luxurious party that lasted at least ten hours, we celebrated together the birth of something very, very rare in our world in which we “live with clients intensely” for so many months, but then the paths part: this time, we celebrated the birth of a special friendship and esteem, which I believe and hope will last for a long time.

Is there anything more intimate and romantic than the idea of eloping to a remote corner of the world and exchanging vows of eternal love far away from everything and everyone, fully immersing oneself in that magic of “just the two of us”?

This increasingly popular trend is called “elopement wedding”-literally, elopement-and turns the idea of traditional weddings upside down, focusing everything on the intimacy of that special moment.

Brides and grooms who choose this experience seek the magic of a wedding away from the pressures and expectations often associated with traditional weddings.

And it is precisely this magical intimacy that Liisa and Martin, our Estonian bride and groom, were looking for when they came to us for their destination wedding in Sardinia.

Liisa and Martin were clear from the start: they wanted to exchange their vows of love in Italy, to remember their first trip together with the sea as a backdrop, to the notes of Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me.”

“When the night, has come

And the land is dark

And the moon, is the only, light we’ll see

No I won’t, be afraid

No I won’t, be afraid

Just as long, as you stand, stand by me”

And while it’s true that “less is more,” in some ways -fewer guests, less expense- certainly the elopements don’t forgo detail: an explosion of flowers, colors, and hyper-customized details characterized the setup of the ceremony, and the table for two. Lisa and Martin immersed themselves in a setting that was as enveloping and nuanced as their story, reflecting themselves in the crystal clear water of the Baja Sardinia sea, and then enjoying on their own the magic sunset and that moon, which is mentioned in their heart song, began to rise in the dark sky illuminating a special night.

On our side, elopements are a precious opportunity to fulfill the intimate wish of couples who come from abroad and design a special moment for them… On the other hand, they are more challenging than you might think! In the case of this couple, being able to find, in just two months and during the peak season, a location that would suit their needs (including a beach or waterfront overlook all to themselves) was anything but easy, especially with a budget that was not unlimited.

The bureaucratic complications of a foreign civil destination wedding in Italy were then the icing on the cake: Lisa and Martin’s wedding was a REAL wedding, not a symbolic celebration, and this involved a race against time-and between embassies, consulates, and Co.

Despite everything, we managed to overcome every obstacle and make their elopement an unforgettable experience: an explosion of colors reflected on the sea at sunset.

Seeing their smiles, the astonishment when they saw for the first time that what we had created was even beyond their wishes, erased all the fatigue and anxieties of those months.

Adriana, Planner at Elisa Mocci Events

Thank you, for your help! And thank you for the surprise of organizing then the flowers into our room, they brought us much joy in the next day and even yesterday evening ✨✨

One of the richest experiences of the 2022 weddings season, was certainly the creation of Julia and Giovanni’s wedding in Baja Sardinia: an intimate boho wedding rich in details, reflecting the sweet and gentle personalities of the bride and groom.

The relationship with our bride and groom is precious, and the success of that relationship also lies in the care that I, Elisa, always put at the beginning of the path together with my couples, in choosing the right Planner / Project manager for each of them.
It is not a choice that should be taken lightly: the strength of a structured brand like Elisa Mocci Events, today, allows me to be able to choose for each couple the planner that is closest to the temperament, enthusiasm, character of each couple.

It is a months-long job, and it is essential to feel that you have by your side not only a professional, but a person who can understand your desires-even the unexpressed ones-transforming them into reality beyond all expectations.

This is what our Planner Sarah was able to create with this couple: a relationship of trust, and sincere enthusiasm for every single detail, carefully explaining the various choices and suggesting the perfect location for an intimate and much-desired celebration.
But that’s not all: Sarah’s sunny, smiling and always positive personality matched perfectly with Julia and Giovanni’s enthusiasm, just as she was able to reassure them about the right choices when they were in doubt.

And when we receive such grateful and enthusiastic feedback (read the testimonial at the end of the gallery!), we are proud to have created memories that last forever.

Way to go Sarah! And best wishes again for a wonderful life together to the wonderful Julia and Giovanni, whose affection and gratitude fill us with sincere joy.

“Giovanni and I have been married for one year. It has been one year since you created the best day of our lives. When we think back to 08/2022, every time we cry with joy.

You have made this day very special. You put your heart and soul, commitment and so much love into the preparation. All of this made this day so perfect.

We are so happy to have had you by our side on this day and during the preparation.

Thank you so much for everything!
You are an amazing person and we will be forever grateful.♥♥ Julia”

“I think the fear of the Different is nothing more than the fear of being ourselves, of accepting ourselves for who we are. Fragile, imperfect. Balancing between light and shadow like tightrope walkers. Seeking, in Beauty, the Truth.

Elisa Mocci

This is a Story about Love”

“A Story about Love” is my world.
It is all I can give, as a designer, teacher, person, artist. It is having had the honor of building it with my international mentors, who joined me in Italy to write this story of Freedom, Beauty, Truth and Love, and like me laid themselves bare to give, and receive love during my first International Masterclass, in Nov. 2018.

It is the only way I know, since forever, to tell a Story: through music, poetry, storytelling, colors, lights, scenes. A mixture of what was my life “before,” and what is “now,” with Elisa Mocci Events.
I wrote this Lifelong Story; it was the opportunity I had been looking for a long time to speak out, to shout that diversity – whatever it may be – is a gift that must be cultivated, cherished and defended with courage, because it makes us unique.

And that dreams can change a story. This is my Story about Love.

“A Story about Love” was born and grew together with people who believe in Dreams: thanks to all the Partners of this project it was possible to make it alive, tangible. Thanks to the thousands of hours spent by day, by night, in at least seven different time zones. Thanks to the time, energy, money donated and spent. To those who stayed with us and those who stayed behind. To the tears, the discouragement, the footholds of renewed enthusiasm.

Thanks to Cast of Elan Artists, to Josh for his generosity, to Brian for the artistic direction-and for the encouragement and extraordinary humanity. To the 50 actors, dancers, orchestral players who staged this dream with me. To Luca Magnoni for bravery, I couldn’t have wished for a better scene partner and I wish you to pursue this dream wherever it takes you.

To Giovanni Costantino, Blunotteventi for reading my heart and Davide, your patience and professionalism are rare and valuable.

Thank you to my Team and the Masterclass Students.(here the story of this adventure): wonderful creative, visionary, crazy dreamers who followed me on this adventure and gave shape to a desire in these days. We learned together how to put it on stage, without prejudice. I breathed – and I’ve been missing it for ages – the air of backstage, the scent of the trampled planks, the joy of a spotlight that makes your eyelashes twinkle and there (because you learn it the first day you set foot on a stage) YOU KNOW you’re on stage, and you can’t go back.

So many times during these months I thought about turning back, that everything was too big for me. It has been a very difficult journey, intimate and exposed at the same time, made of small huge victories and also ruinous falls. Investments and mistakes. But in the end it was TRUE. At the end of the day, I spoke my truth in the only way I know, through Art.

BEAUTY – FREEDOM – TRUTH – LOVE

These are the key words of this extraordinary and True event that was “A Story about Love.”

Happy journey, to me, to all of you, for our darkness and our lights to be what makes us strong, unique, creative sparks that ignite positive messages, to whatever world we decide to take
our art.

With Love,
Elisa Mocci

This project was created to celebrate 10 years of Elisa Mocci Events, through a more intimate retrospective on why I – Elisa – have come this far. My journey in the Wedding world was born leaving the Theater and here I wanted to return, to pay homage and say Thank You. If I am who I am, if with my Team (whom I will never thank enough) we can do this, it is because from loneliness I decided, one dark day, to create beauty.
A Story about Love was a International Masterclass with 42 wonderful students, and a theatrical production with 50 artists involved in which I gave every part of me, making a dream come true.

As of today, and thanks to the proceeds from the tickets sold for the Gala, it is a Charity Project that will take this Script to high schools to raise awareness of bullying and donate theater scholarships to the most deserving kids.
This is A Story about Love, and I thank you – all of you, those who understood and those who didn’t, those who gave and those who took away, those who didn’t realize the message this project carried, and to those who got that message loud and clear and changed their perspective – for dreaming with me.

Behind the scenes of A Story about Love, the adventure created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of my Company, Elisa Mocci Events, but above all an opportunity, courageously desired, to tell my own story.

My journey into the world of Wedding and Events was born leaving the Theater 10 years ago, and now I wanted to come back, to pay homage and say thank you. In the only way I know: through words, colors, music, flowers, through what was my world, before arriving here, being a Wedding Planner & Designer: the Theater and its magic.

If me and my team (which I will never thank enough) can do this, it is because of the loneliness I felt in the past, which I decided one day to turn into beauty.

“A Story about Love”, which has just ended in Nov. 2018, was an International Masterclass in Event & Theater Production with 42 wonderful students, 4 distinguished international teachers and a theatrical production in which I gave every part of me, realizing a dream. Telling a story, personal but can be connected to all of BEAUTY, FREEDOM, TRUTH AND LOVE.

From today, and thanks to the proceeds of the tickets sold for the Gala, it is a Charity Project that will bring this Script in high schools, to raise awareness of the issue of bullying and to give theatrical scholarships to the most deserving people.

This is A Story about Love and I’m proud to tell it through the images of the Storytellers who accompanied me on this journey: Gianni di Natale, Alberto d’Aria videographer, and Luigi Orrù.

Have a wonderful journey!

WELCOME DINNER

“WELCOME IN NAPLES!”  Between sacred and profane, a journey through the flavors of tradition

At the feet of the famous Teatro San Carlo, we welcome all the participants with a warm and informal welcome party to A Story about Love in Scaturchio Opera Cafè, an iconic venue in the center of Naples.

A beautiful floral arrangement, created by Espedito Rusciano, works as the background of the photographs of the guests, who are starting to get to know each other. Raffaele Maiello and Gisena Morra, our local planners, introduces us and welcomes us to Naples, where we will spend the next four, extraordinarily intense, days.

Ph. Welcome Dinner – Gianni di Natale

MASTERCLASS DAY 1 | Biblioteca Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele III

“LEARNING & INSPIRATION” the stories, experiences and advice of the 4 international mentors

A Story about Love began, revealing the wonders that it will contains during the first day of International Masterclass.

Together with me, divideing this prestigious task in front of 42 students and colleagues, David Beahm, Philippa Craddock and Marie De Vera (The Style Co) inspired and shared their experiences and emotions.

The greatest thrill was being able to count on the support of these three extraordinary, as well as professionals, people. When I decided to go down this path – which I knew would be a huge challenge – I wanted to have people who had the same approach to this work and life by my side: the desire to share, the humility of knowing how to listen, the undisputed professionalism and the courage of being able to talk about oneself without filters.

I wanted to give my students the same sensations that I had felt myself letting myself be guided and inspired by them during some key moments of my career. Each of them, David, Philippa, Marie, were fundamental. And there was no greater satisfaction than seeing the same spark grow in the astonished eyes of those in front of me.

The keys to the speeches of the International Mentors for “A Story about Love”

Do what makes you feel alive. Happy. Proud. And do it in an unique way: YOUR way! The Team is the Key for extraordinaire events. – Elisa Mocci

Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it is about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place. And Breathe. – David Beahm

Be KIND, be grateful. And say no (when it’s time to say no) – Philippa Craddock

Show people endless possibilities. Think differently, and challenge the norm. – Marie de Vera

A journey in the themes of BEAUTY – FREEDOM – TRUTH – LOVE is what I asked my international guests, who were able to gather exceptional ideas from these universal themes, bringing them back to the experience of every creative entrepreneur: Wedding Planners, Designers, Florists or Artists, we all live in the balance between light and shadow, between the pure to say no to a customer and the difficulty in balancing our lives and the pursuit of our personal, happiness. I got excited when I saw my Team crying embraced while watching the video of one of our wedding in an archaeological site, remember that – beyond the effort – the indelible memories remain.

Another wonderful moment for me was when – going out for lunch – we stopped at the Piazza del Plebiscito for a group photo, and I saw how many people we were (70, including my staff and partners) I realizeing how extraordinary it the event and message we were building together was.

Ph. Day 1 – Gianni di Natale

MASTERCLASS DAY 2 | Teatro Sannazaro, Napoli

“WE CAN LIVE IN A WORLD THAT WE DESIGN”

The thrill of entering the theater and discovering the place that will be in for the next 2 days. The students are finding themselves unexpectedly on stage, and the emotions is great. We await Philippa Craddock, the most acclaimed flower designer in the UK (after the Royal Wedding of Meghan & Harry, a true star), which introduces the floral part that we will create together with her team and the precious support of Espedito Rusciano Flowers.

I asked Philippa and her team to help me create a dream world of flowers, a world in which the characters of my Script – the show I wrote for the dinner show the next day – could live, dream and interact : a bohemian Mill as Home, a canopy representing “Million Dreams”, flowers and colors growing from the floor… a Piano, in the middle of the room, and at the centre of a life. Loved and hated, like the musician who plays it, like the music, at some point in my life.

Busy and dreamy, we stop to taste an extraordinary coffee at the mocha Bar of Hmc Coffee, to then resume the work.

Together with Raffaele and Gisena, the Elisa Mocci Events team continues the preparations for the Design set: the Rose and Blunotte (light & sound) starts to set up the stage, the Foyer and the corners of the Australian designer Marie de Vera .

It will be a long, long day, waiting for the arrival of Élan Artists who, surprisingly, will introduce the participants to the Masterclass at the choreography of the Show final. An explosion of fun, insecurities and final enthusiasm. “THIS IS ME” – from The Greatest Showman, is the song I chose to close the Show, the only detail known by the students. An ode to diversity, inclusion, not being afraid of proving that we are what we are.

Are you ready to get on stage? We are!

Ph. Day 2 – Gianni di Natale | Luigi Orrù

What few people know, are the BEHIND THE SCENES of this second day. That the night before (and, worse, the one before that would have marked me forever) we had not slept. Silvia had been in the room no more than two hours. The setting up of the Theater from 6 am, the prayers to be able to enter even an hour before – from the fear of not making it.

The heart in my throat as we looked into each other’s eyes and we understood, with my team and with the Local Planners, that this yes, that was a big story. The thought – constant – of having to give the maximum for my students, while I alone had the knowledge of the whole “bandwagon” that that event was brought back, and that from that moment would pass another 18 hours (and 50 artists in arrival) and that I had to hold on.

And then the arrival of Philippa Craddock and her wonderful Team. The amazement of the students. Flowers, colors, laughter with Silvia Mocci and Marie Cruz-de Vera with cardboard horses, the doubts of Elisa Congiu and the certainties of Chiara Maestri that despite fever did not give up, the humanity of David Beahm who embraced me and reminds me to breathe (“be proud”) and the fatigue of the partners who ran against the clock. A video with Alberto D’Aria and a coffee, to hold on and continue together to create BEAUTY.

The BEAUTY that I believe I am really realizing today, writing these lines and going through all of the photos. The students, or rather colleagues in the wedding world, in a corridor on the ground laughing and cutting out figurines to hang in a small theater without knowing why.

The walls with velvet (that HAD to be velvet at all costs), the Antonio’s enthused by Marie who would have moved to Australia TOMORROW, the cutters and scissors that were going fast. People, unknown until yesterday, embracing and crying and creating wonderful little worlds. This all thanks to me. Then I took Elisabetta Delogu’s clothes that I had hidden behind the scenes, and I knew that no, I could not hide anything from those people who were there for me, and also for themselves. I had to tell every single choice, every embroidery in this story, every emotion that had brought me there. And they would understand.

This is A Story about Love.

MASTERCLASS DAY 2 | Teatro Sannazaro, Napoli

TECH NIGHT – “ENTERTAIN US, WE FEEL STUPID AND CONTAGIOUS”

The longest night of all time, the one before the show. The night where all the knots needs to be combed out, where hopes are mixed with fatigue, where 10 months spent writing a show finally become real, where every technical question must be resolved or overcome: the terrible Tech Night!

One night I did not look forward to, and that I feared more than any other. Would the swing hold up? Would the engine work? Would the orchestra have arranged the songs as I imagined? Will the piano, in the center of the room, have been a good idea? I knew that mixing event production with a real theatrical production was a risky choice, marvelous and crazy and I did not imagine how much, until that evening.

That we have lived, I and the Cast of Èlan Artists, each in its own way, with the tension and expectations that only a show “good the first” can cause. But in the end, two notes on the piano were enough and a hug from all the singers and dancers intoning the notes of “Your Song”, to remind us that we were living a dream, a beautiful dream that would not return.

Then I raised my eyes to the ceiling and discovered that, upside down, there was an antique clock, right up there … to remind me that the time I was spening there, in that theater and surrounded by artists, was an extraordinary gift of which I had to be grateful for every single second. I was, again in my life, making music and show; we were going to stage something that came from my heart and that others – giving their time and their art – had had the pleasure and the courage to carry out with me and for me.

And despite the tiredness, the fear, the nervousness and the fatigue, it was one of the most beautiful nights of my life.

Ph. Tech night – Luigi Orrù

MASTERCLASS DAY 3 | Teatro Sannazaro, Napoli

“Impossible comes true, it’s taking over you

OH, THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW”

Let’s go through the images of Gianni Di Natale on the third and final day of Masterclass in event design and theater production “A Story about Love”. The most demanding and hardest one. We are almost there!

In under 10 hours, every detail must be in place and ready when the doors of the theater opens and accommodate the 250 guests who will be present at the Charity Dinner Show.

The pressure starts to reveal it self, and for this reason I decided to surprise my students with opening the day with a half hour of meditation, on the stage, led by the Maestro Flower and Event Designer David Beahm.

Through wise words and valuable advice, we breathed together and catalyzed the energy to the right direction. On the stage, the students found a gift signed by Marcello Pane Gioelli and conceived together with Raffaele Maiello, our precious Local Planner.

The “crooked nail”, a lucky symbol for the actors (it is said that, for the artists, finding it on stage is synonymous with great success of the Show!), blends with the Neapolitan scacciaguai cornetto. We are getting closer to the show … and a bit of luck does not hurt!

In a surreal, almost mystical atmosphere, sweet music accompanies David’s deep and inspiring words.

“Dream great dreams and make them come true” Do it now “

“It is astonishing how short is the time it takes for a wonderful thing to happen”

Among the final touches to the flowers, final races to finish the preparations of BEAUTY – FREEDOM – TRUTH – LOVE by The Style Co. & Silvia Mocci in the hall and in the foyer (a wonderful setting, curated by NOU Design Studio to retrace the graphic identity created by them and the whole concept behind the event, through images, graphics, drawings and illustrations that have covered all the entrance of the Teatro Sannazaro), we finally arrive to the end of this day.

And as if by magic, the #Diormakeup station (with the famous make up artist Carmine Russo) appears to give a “touch of magic” to the team. But … can you believe? Dior thought to pay homage to all the guests of the Gala Dinner Show with surprise gift bags!

The students ran to the Hotel to put on the Gala dress, while in the theater we stay with the artists for the last rehearsals. Meanwhile, Zuzu Birkhof set up galactic equipment for the Group Picture (see it here!) While I was wondering “will we ever do it in time?” and hundreds of guests already began to huddle outside the theater. At that moment I remember the heartbeat like never before.

Only then did I realize how much organizing events for other people is easier than making something for themselves. For the first time, I could not be in control at that moment. I was not physically at the door, but in a dressing room. Only the staff of the event, my Team and Valentina Piccabianchi in the direction of the Catering could have the pulse of the situation. And I will never thank Valentina enough (and Dario) because – in that moment of madness – she looked at me in the eyes saying “it’s all right, from this moment, I’ll take care of it … You GO!” And show your message to the world!”.
