Why do so many non-Sardinian couples choose Sardinia for their wedding? Why does Sardinia capture your heart…

Just like Andrea, who has been visiting Sardinia on vacation since he was a child, passed on his love for the island to Diana, who is from Moldova.

Our planner Mary, with her eye for detail and her passion for giving a fresh and contemporary twist to tradition, designed a wedding that perfectly reflected the couple’s wishes:

“From our first meetings, the couple expressed a very clear desire: to welcome their guests in a wild yet gentle natural setting, through an event that spoke of Sardinia, but with a refined and contemporary take on tradition.

It wasn’t difficult to find the perfect location: a corner of Gallura where the scent of the sea mingles with that of the Mediterranean scrub, where myrtle and lentisk lead the eye to enchanting panoramas, across enormous granite rocks smoothed by the wind: one of the restaurants nestled in the nature of the famous Valle dell’Erica resort – winner of the prestigious “Europe’s Leading Green Resort” award.

“I immediately thought of a minimalist wedding design for them, with a few but clear elements that would recall Sardinia with style. A discreet presence that was in line with Diana’s elegance.

Repeated patterns and weaves, starting from the carpets that covered the entire nave of the church, up to the menus that embellished the table. The highlight? The tableau, entirely handmade in wood, using the mosaic technique.

In every design by Elisa Mocci Events, it’s not just the decorations, but the entire “wedding experience” that has to tell a story: so, upon arriving at the location, guests can appreciate the preparation of “ciusoni”, the typical Gallura pasta, made by hand right in front of them, pressing and rubbing small pieces of dough between the intertwined fibers of a basket, as well as the slow cooking of the suckling pig (the famous Sardinian porceddu) in the large stone oven, in full view.

The last challenge of the day? Lighting the cake table almost exclusively with candles and giving shape and light to the granite rocks that would serve as a backdrop, a magical moment, between the warm glow of over 300 candles and the affectionate glances of family and friends who surrounded the bride and groom with love and emotion.”

Setting a destination wedding in Sardinia, incorporating typical elements into a contemporary and never repetitive design is one of the biggest challenges we face every day as a team, to make each event close to the story and vision of our couples, without ever making it repetitive. Did we succeed this time too?

If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in Sardinia too… between 2 to 9 months in advance is for our specialized team the perfect timing to plan yours.
